How to configure a static ip-address​

Click Start > Run > type “cmd” and hit Enter.

Type “ipconfig /all” into Command Prompt and leave the window open for later use.

Navigate to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Network and Sharing Center > click Change adapter settings on the left side.

Right-Click on your network card, e. g. Ethernet > click Properties > confirm UAC dialogue with Yes.

Scroll down to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and hit Properties.

Click Use the following IP address: and Use the following DNS server addresses: and enter the values as shown in the Command Prompt (CMD) in step 2.

The field IP address must be unique, however the fields Subnet mask, Default gateway and Preferred DNS Server must be the same on all computers in your network.

Default Gateway and Preferred DNS server must be your router’s ip address, valid IP addresses range from xxx.yyy.zzz.1 to xxx.yyy.zzz.254 excluding your router’s ip address.

Confirm closing all dialogues by clicking OK. To reverse the changes, undo step 6 to obtain an ip address automatically from your router again.

You are done!
